Centre Manager Shelby Biggs brings over a decade of experience in early childhood education.
“I’ve managed centres for about five of those years.
“The excitement of opening a brand-new centre and building something from the ground up really appealed to me.”
Aspire Ashbury is already fostering strong local connections.
“It is very much a community out here, everyone kind of knows everyone, they’ve got really good relationships already, which is really helpful for the children settling — they know their neighbours and see each other at the park.”
Visits from local aged care residents and excursions are planned for the months ahead.
“We’re really focused on embedding strong community links because of where we are and the type of neighbourhood we’re part of.”
Diverse and Engaging Learning Experiences
Aspire Ashbury offers a range of incursions that rotate throughout the year. These include Kelly Sports, Happy Feet, and interactive visits from local organisations.
Recent highlights also include water safety programs from Saltwater Swim School, wildlife encounters, science workshops, and sustainability sessions in the centre’s dedicated eco-yard.
“We’ve had baby crocodiles, butterflies, and science experiments already — and there’s so much more to come,” Shelby said.
Nourishing Food That Children Love
One standout feature of Aspire Ashbury is its on-site chef, who prepares fresh meals daily.
“Parents are continuously commenting on the smell of the food — it’s incredible,” said Shelby.
Recent menu items include Thai fish curry, lamb ragù, pesto chicken pasta, chickpea curry with rice, and vanilla slice for morning tea.
Limited Places Available
The centre is now open and operating across all age groups, from nursery to kindergarten.
“We do have availability, but it’s limited depending on the age group,” Shelby said.
